Alfa Romeo doesn’t have a richer history with any name quite like it does with the Giulia. Though the car was popular in the 1960s and 1970s, it eventually went out of production to make way for Alfa Romeo’s newer models. It is now back with a vengeance as one of the top luxury supercar sedans on the market.

Designing Greatness – A History of the Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia was designed at Centro Stile Alfa Romeo with a large team under the umbrella of Marco Tencone. It was first unveiled in June of 2015 at the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese. This was the same occasion as Alfa Romeo’s 105th anniversary. It was the very first vehicle in the multi-billion-dollar relaunch.

The Seductive Technology Alfa Romeo Giulia

The 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia runs thanks to a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 280 horsepower. It sounds like a monster and can hit 60 mph in 5.5 seconds when in all-wheel-drive. It comes with multiple drive modes and adaptive suspension.

On the interior, the car is filled with fine leather, genuine wood trimmings, and soft plastic. There is a wide dashboard with an integrated 6.5” infotainment screen, central climate-control vents, and an optional 14-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system.

The First Generation of the Alfa Romeo Giulia (2016-Present)

The Alfa Romeo Giulia is still in its first generation, and nothing major has changed since the inception of the vehicle. With that said, there are a few higher-class models with upgraded features. The Giulia Ti, which stands for “Turismo Internazionale,” sports an array of upgrades, including 18-inch aluminum wheels, wood interior accents, an 8.8” infotainment system, and a heated steering wheel.

The other Alfa Romeo Giulia is known as the Giulia Quadrifoglio. It has a whopping 505 horsepower, making it the gutsiest of the bunch.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia In the News

In recent and unfortunate Alfa Romeo news, the sports car was recalled over faulty gas gauges. The company was saying that these faulty gauges are leading drivers to believe that their cars have more fuel than they actually do.

Celebrity Endorsements of the Alfa Romeo Giulia

Though the Alfa Romeo may seem like a celebrity car, it seems as though many celebrities like to stay quiet about theirs. One celebrity owner of the Alfa Romeo Giulia is soccer star, Mario Balotelli
